Bryceville

March 31st, 2008

Last night, we led worship for the evening servce at Bryceville First Baptist Church. I (Eric) constantly tell the guys, “If I only had a video camera…” when cool video-worthy things happen. Well, I actually have one now, but decided not to bring it last night. Doh.

Video-worthy events include

- FINALLY getting a cassette adapter so we can listen to an iPod in the van. A nice mix of Hillsong United, Killers, Michael Jackson, R.E.M., and New Order among others. By the way, Jeremy really doesn’t like the song “Out of My Head” by Fastball.

- Jeremy sinking a half-court shot on his first try. As a prize, Paul gave him the tomatoes from our excellent spaghetti dinner.

- Robert telling the congregation of how he beat his leg bloody to teach his son a spiritual lesson.

- Sweet worship with ages 15-85.

Whether it’s 1,000 youth workers or 30 churchgoers, the Spirit is still the same and God is just as good. Thanks, Bryceville FBC!

Happy post-Easter Monday

March 24th, 2008

This is the day where we celebrate Jesus’ first full day back with the disciples. Notable moments of that day included:

- Jesus shaking his head in love at hearing how they were hiding in fear
- everyone awkwardly trying to avoid staring at the holes in His hands
- lots of people crying, laughing, and praising God to see Christ alive
- Jesus telling Peter how funny it was to see him jump out of the boat and start swimming to shore

God is so awesome and cool. Praise God for Jesus!

Our friend Scott

March 20th, 2008

Our good friend Scott is moving from Gainesville to Tempe, Arizona today. For several years, Scott’s been a loyal friend and supporter of ours. If you’re the praying type, please pray for safe driving for Scott (driving ‘cross Texas is a doozy!) and for God to open new, exciting opportunities for him when he settles in.
